Spring 2023

Third Serve Foundation
Third Serve Foundation welcomes you back to the second edition of our Baseline Newsletter! Spring has sprung on Kiawah Island since we last… touched base…. and we’re thrilled to share these recent experiences with you. Our spring semester wrapped up with a new record of over 70% weekly practice retention rates, introduction to competitive play and exponential fruit snacks. From an evening with world-renowned professional tennis player, Madison Keys, to our new and nearing summer programming, Third Serve Foundation is progressively growing as fast as our elementary school students seem to be!
Check out the links below to specific pages throughout our site featuring our spring 2023 highlights.
Third Serve Tennis Fest
In April we hosted our first annual tennis fest. This was a beginners' level 7 USTA junior circuit, aimed to create a memorable first competitive experience for our athletes.

Over 45 elementary students from around Charleston joined us at the Roy Barth Tennis Center on Kiawah Island for Tennis Fest. This event included activities, music, face-painting, food and more. Our purpose of this event was to introduce competitive play to our athletes in a memorable way, impacting their perspective on taking their tennis to the next level.
Kindness Wins: Clinic with Madison Keys

World renowned professional tennis player, Madison Keys, whose foundation 'Kindness Wins' teamed up with Third Serve and other local tennis affiliations to host a court dedication clinic in North Charleston. Kindness Wins provided funds to rebuild the JV Morris Tennis Center in efforts to expand tennis accessibility in our
community.
Summer Programming

This year, we are instating summer programming eligible to public school elementary children throughout Charleston. Practice will be Monday and Wednesday evenings at the Roy Barth Tennis Center on Kiawah Island. Check out our programming page for more information and how you can get involved!
Looking Ahead
Transportation Volunteers Looking to find ways you can get involved with Third Serve? We need private transportation volunteers for athletes in need of rides to our summer programming. This opportunity would allow you to get to know some of our Third Serve kids, as well as ensure their continued participation in our program throughout the summer months. Email nicole@thirdservefoundation.com to start the application process.
